Merry Christmas 2007!

Happy Holidays from our family to yours!

Since we live near the ocean in beautiful Southern California, we went to the beach on December 14th and had a friend take photos of us. Enjoy!

Evan is a very happy 4 year old. He loves his Pre-K class, pirates, Buzz Lightyear (from the Toy Story movies) and playing video games (takes after Jason). His favorite phrase these days is "Funny, right?" He is always trying to make you laugh.

Quinn, whose nickname is "Quinny Q," is an adorable 1 1/2 year old. He talks all the time, although he does not pronounce the first syllable of most words (e.g., water sounds like "ater"). His main exceptions are "Eh-Eh" for Evan, "Te-Te" for Auntie Tracy, and "Car-Car" for Carter. But he says Mommy and Daddy very clearly. He knows how to get what he wants! He is such a sweetie and loves giving "ugs". He's also very good at going to "eep" at night.

We wish you all the best this holiday season and in the coming new year!
Love & peace ~ Jason, Trina, Evan & Quinn

Awards for Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

Jason works at Naughty Dog, and in November they released the game Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. They just won GameSpy's PS3 Gamers' Choice Award for 2007. And they came in second for GameSpy's PS3 Game of the Year. They have been getting great reviews from many game sites. You can read them at GameRankings and MetaCritic.

Congrats to Jason and the whole Uncharted team!

Santa Claus is coming to town!

Santa Claus came to El Segundo on December 6th for the tree lighting ceremony on Main St. He even gave presents to the kids.

Then Santa visited Evan's school yesterday during their school party. Evan was a little shy, so Mommy went to talk to Santa with him. Evan asked Santa for "Buzz." Quinn also got a turn to talk to Santa. He grabbed at Santa's beard and said "chin" (probably trying to figure out where his chin went). Then Quinn and his friend Sophia (Ben's little sister) sat with Santa.

Rain rain go away, Come back another day, Hey!

On November 30th, it really rained here in Southern CA.
The boys liked wearing their rain boots.

Aargh and Roar!

Before Halloween, we went to a local pumpkin patch with Evan's Pre-K class. Evan is in the front row in the middle sitting next to his best buddy Ben.

Here's a photo of Quinny and his mommy.

The next day, Quinn's "Mommy & Me" class dressed up. Here's a class photo with the kiddos who were willing to stay still long enough.
Quinn is the lion in the middle.

Rrrooaaarrr!!!

Evan was a pirate for Halloween (again!).
Aaargh!!!

Happy Birthday Namma!!!

Joyce Osterhus, our wonderful mom/grandma/friend, passed away six months ago. Last Friday (Sept 28th) was her birthday. Evan and Trina made a cake and some cupcakes in order to celebrate. The Provins Family joined the Gregory Family, and we all sang "Happy Birthday" to Namma as loud as we could so she could hear us in heaven. The kids got to stick their fingers in the frosting just as Namma taught them to do, and they also got to decorate their own cupcakes with Namma's sprinkles. Here's a photo of the cake.

A year ago, 17 of her family and friends (including her) were celebrating her 60th birthday on the Mexican Riviera Cruise. Here are some photos to help us remember that special trip.

You can see photos that span Joyce's life on Making Everlasting Memories site created for her at http://www.mem.com/Story.aspx?ID=1773885. Click on the Image Gallery or click on Movie to see the photos with captions and music.

Mom's body was cremated and the ashes placed in a niche at Westminster Memorial Park. The niche is located on the south side of a stone wall in a beautiful garden. Below is a photo of her niche.
We believe the plaque says it all.

We love you and miss you every day!

First Day of School

Evan started his first day of his Pre-K class on September 11. He will be attending school in the mornings Monday thru Friday. His new teacher is Mrs. Greene, which is cool since green is his favorite color.

Here's Evan and his buddy Ben "cruising the beach."

After his buddy Ben made it across the monkey bars, Evan had to do it too. On the second try, he did it all by himself.

Quinn also started school this week. He is taking a "Mommy and Me" class on Friday mornings. He was so excited to go that he couldn't wait to get out of the house and into the car.

Here's Quinn in his classroom sitting at the table.

We are going to have a fun school year!

Evan is 4!!!!

On June 15, Evan turned 4 years old. Where did the time go?

We first celebrated on Friday, his actual birthday, with Grandpa & Grandma O. Grandpa make him a very neat wooden truck.

On Saturday, we had his Pirate Party with family including cousin Carter, close friends including Shelly and his 2 preschool buddies - Hannah and Bennett (and Bennett's sisters - Maddie and Sophia). We had a treasure hunt and played "Sink the Ship" game. Here's a photo of the birthday boy with his mom and dad.

Here's photos of his friends.

Here's photos of the menu and the Pirate Flag cake. Yum!

Quinn had a jolly good time, too!

Quinn is one!

Quinn turned ONE on March 7, 2007.

We celebrated his birthday with Grandma Joyce, her friend Marsha, and the Provins Family on March 3.

Quinn's official birthday party was on March 10 - Daddy's birthday.
We celebrated both of their birthdays.

Here's Quinn eating yogurt:

Here's our third cat:

Quinn started walking right before his birthday. Just after his birthday,
he fell and pushed his top front left tooth up into his gums.
So he has a funny, but cute, smile now.
His current words are: dada, mama, up, that, cat, dog, duck,
hi, and all gone.
