Joyce Osterhus

Dear Friends,

We are writing with heavy hearts to tell you that our mother, Joyce Osterhus, passed from this world into heaven on Friday, March 23rd at 10 pm.

As you know, Mom had been struggling with a rare form of cancer known as PMP for 5½ years. During her ordeal she always demonstrated incredible strength, enduring every treatment and procedure with dignity and bravery, and then always asking her oncologist, Dr. Patrick Sheehy, what new treatment she could try next. Just over one week prior to her passing, after discussing all possible options with her doctor and her family, she made the incredibly brave decision to stop treatment and go home under the care of hospice. We threw her a party, she had her favorite food, and she spent her first few days back home visiting with friends and family. When she passed on Friday night we were with her, along with our husbands, telling her how much we loved her.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate Mom’s life on Saturday, March 31 at 4 pm at her church (details below). Child care for children 5 and under will be provided during the service. Following the service, a reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall with sandwiches, salads and dessert.

We want to thank you all for your love, support and prayers – both during these past most difficult weeks, and also during her entire 5½ year struggle. Our entire family has been truly blessed with your friendship and love.

Mom, you are our hero.

With love and hugs,
Trina Gregory and Tracy Lee Provins
